CADRE (Core Application Development system for Reconfigurable Environments) is a proprietary and advanced integrated system & application development tool. The kingpin of the environment is the concept of a design reuse methodology which can be accessed by users at a much higher than component level of abstraction.

At CADRE's level of abstraction, little distinction is made between hardware and software, they are design blocks that are dragged, dropped, and connected. Systems development is enabled by mapping together different elements, and functions as application building blocks that are simply snapped together. IP libraries, system and interfaces are building blocks that are implemented on a common platform architecture that is tailored to share multiple embedded system applications.

With CADRE, Codesign's system designers can effectively address customers' shrinking development schedules, and time-to-market issues. The open interface approach used by CADRE addresses new applications as well as the transition of legacy technologies to CADRE's environment.
